10 February 2022: I have no intention of repeating the plodding thoroughness of last year's exercise. I had assumed that the creation of this sort of calendar would be entertaining or informative or both. The only thing I learned was that tulips grow slow and steady through late winter and early spring before
bursting into colourful life in the last week or so of March. But I suppose I also now have a detailed record of a flowering season, with the earliest going over before the last week in April, and then the later ones taking over and sustaining colour into mid May, when the forget-me-nots are also at their
best. It is also mildly diverting to note how much more wintry the weather was last year in the second week of February. This year, we've had daytime temperatures into the double figures. Will that result in earlier flowering? Let's see - I aim to post one picture a month.
